Funding to Support Spencer’s Scholarship, Internship and Mentoring Programs

NEW YORK (February 9, 2016) – RIMS Board of Directors approved a $450,000 donation to the Spencer Educational Foundation to be paid over a three-year period. For 37 years, Spencer has been dedicated to funding the education of tomorrow’s risk management and insurance leaders through grants, scholarships, internships, mentoring and other programs.

“The bright and talented new professionals and students that are entering the risk management workforce are a major reason why this profession continues to shine,” said RIMS President Julie Pemberton.  “RIMS Board of Directors agree that it is imperative to support these future leaders as they take that initial step to pursue rewarding careers in this industry.  That’s why we’re proud to partner with the Spencer Educational Foundation and support in their mission to advance the risk management and insurance profession.”

Brion Callori, Chairman of the Spencer Educational Foundation said, “The Foundation continues to make great progress that has included over $5.6 million in scholarships and $3.25 million in grants.  None of our programs would be possible without the support of our industry partners. On behalf of Spencer and the countless students we’ve helped over the years, I would like to sincerely thank RIMS for this most generous donation.”
