NEW YORK (July 8, 2014) – RIMS Executive Director Mary Roth has been named President of the International Federation of Risk and Insurance Management Associations (IFRIMA), a position she will hold in addition to her current role with RIMS. IFRIMA is an international umbrella organization comprising risk management associations that represents 20 organizations in more than 30 countries around the world.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Roth served as IFRIMA’s Executive Vice President for two years and has been involved with the organization since the early 1990s.  RIMS has been a member of IFRIMA since its inception.

“Throughout the years, IFRIMA has provided me with invaluable resources, connections and a global perspective on risk management that has directly contributed to the valuable opportunities we deliver to RIMS members and our constituents around the world,” said Ms. Roth.  “It is an honor to take on this new responsibility and I look forward to continuing this important engagement with other association leaders to achieve our shared goal of advancing risk management and serving our respective members and customers.”

Ms. Roth joined RIMS in 1985. Since that time, she has served in such roles as Assistant Director of Research and Director of Membership and Chapter Services, and Chief Operating Officer.  In October 2004, she was named Executive Director of the Society.

Ms. Roth received her bachelor's of science degree from Pennsylvania State University. She also completed Columbia University’s Institute for Not-for-Profit Management in New York.
