DEVELOPING A RISK MANAGEMENT PROGRAM FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION

July 15 – 16, 2013

Minneapolis Club

In this workshop, risk professionals learn the tools and techniques for developing a risk management program that complies with regulatory statutes, and delivers value to the organization.

Instructor: Christopher E. Mandel, former RIMS President and senior vice president of strategic solutions at Sedgwick.

 

COURSECAST: D&O 101: WHEN THE CEO ASKS, "AM I COVERED FOR THIS?"

July 16, 2013 – 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. ET

Two leading experts in the field will host this interactive 90-minute online “mini-course” that will review common risks faced by D&O’s; an overview of D&O Coverage and how it works; key coverage provisions; as well as pricing parameters for D&O coverage. This introductory course to D&O liability and insurance issues is appropriate for all companies, whether they are publicly traded, privately held, not-for-profit, or health care-related. 

Instructors: Geoffrey D. Fallon is a senior vice president at Risk Audit LLC. Priya Cherian Huskins is a senior vice president at Woodruff-Sawyer & Co.

 

WEBINAR: IMPORTANCE OF THE TERRORISM RISK INSURANCE ACT (TRIA) TO THE COMMERCIAL CONSUMER

July 18, 2013 – 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. (ET)

As the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act draws closer to its expiration, RIMS External Affairs Committee has assembled a panel of experts who will focus on the importance of TRIA to commercial consumers of insurance and the potential impacts from the program’s expiration.

Moderator: Nathan Bacchus, RIMS Senior Government Affairs Manager.  Panelists: Michael E. Angelina is the executive director of the Academy of Risk Management and Insurance at Saint Joseph's University; Robert Gordon is the senior vice president, policy development and research for PCI; Janice Ochenkowski, former RIMS President and a Managing Director at Jones Lang LaSalle.

 

ENTERPRISE-WIDE RISK MANAGEMENT: DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING

July 22 – 24, 2013

San Francisco State University

Participants will acquire an understanding of the ERM process, as well as ERM strategies and tools to help develop plan.  The workshop will provide case studies, check-lists and hands-on exercises that cover each step of an ERM program.

WEBINAR - RISK MANAGEMENT & INTERNAL AUDIT: FORGING A COLLABORATIVE ALLIANCE

July 25, 2013 - 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

The IIA and RIMS believe that collaboration between the disciplines of internal audit and risk management can lead to stronger risk practices in meeting stakeholder expectations. This co-sponsored webinar will feature executives from Whirlpool and TD Ameritrade -- two of the organizations highlighted in the 2012 joint report “Risk Management and Internal Audit: Forging a Collaborative Alliance” -- who will share their experiences on how they've leveraged the benefits of an effective collaboration, thereby increasing their organizations’ risk management capability.

 

CYBER RISK & LIABILITY: PRIVACY & DATA SECURITY RISK MANAGEMENT

This workshop explores the latest developments in cyber risks, as well as tools to help risk professionals better understand and implement compliance plans, ensure data privacy and mitigate damages should a breach occur.
